Headlining on Saturday afternoon and evening
Following on from ToonFest 2012 where over £5,800 was raised for local good causes, ToonFest is back for 2013 – bigger, bolder and louder than before. ToonFest is a celebration of the best Arbroath and Angus has to offer in and every penny raised by the event is given back to the community it came from. Arbroath Round Table are your event organisers and we have a good pedigree of events starting off with a simple beer festival, progressing into barn dances with Barnfest out in the country and now bringing it back into the ‘toon hence last years name change to ToonFest. It’s a great event and with a musical line up that includes Yasmin Worrall, The Bygones and The Declaration Band – you don’t want to miss it!!!
Arbroath’s ToonFest 2013 will have Scotland’s best soul and blues covers band there is when our very own The Declaration Band takes to the stage to headline both sessions on Saturday 18th May.
Playing a 2 hour set in the afternoon and 3 hours in the evening the party really cranks up more gears than a Fast and Furious movie!
Frontman Ben Dunn has more Soul than a Japanese fish market and is ably assisted by Shannon Jamieson on the bongos, Ewan Gordon on the recorder, Howard Cargill on the kazoo, John ‘The Kid’ on the ukelele and Jonny Gordon on his Banjo.
The Declaration Band do a fantastic version of Nightboat to Cairo by Madness. In a dancing frenzy this particular Tabler danced so hard he took out Howard on the trumpet mid-song. Lead singer Ben picked me up, dusted me off and joined in!!!
The Declaration Band are worth the ticket price alone but we also have two other fantastic acts in support with Yasmin Worrall opening the show and The Bygones in the middle of a tasty musical sandwich.
Since arriving on the gigging scene in April 2011 they have stunned audiences everywhere they go. They are a 6 piece band combining their passion for authentic live quality with a stage performance that never fails to have the whole place jumping.
Arbroath Round Table are delighted to announce our second act for ToonFest as The Bygones. Claire Nicol has a voice so powerful it could stop a comet from hitting the Earth and Lewis Jenkins brings the songs to life with his finger skills on the acoustic guitar to be the perfect compliment to Claire. An Act not to be missed, The Bygones will be performing an hour long set at both sessions of ToonFest 2013 which will be held on Saturday 18th May.
Arbroath Round Table are delighted to announce the opening act for ToonFest 2013 as Yasmin Worrall. Yasmin has a voice so sultry that whenever her boyfriend answers the phone he thinks he’s getting a dirty call!!!!
ToonFest will be Yasmin’s biggest gig to date and she will be playing a half hour set of covers and her own original tracks with only her acoustic guitar for company.
Yasmin Worrall is an up and coming singer/songwriter from Arbroath. Yasmin is currently playing in small venues across Scotland and is recording her debut EP ‘Hourglass’ which will be available to download from iTunes later this year. To follow Yasmin please visit

Last year we brought you 10 lagers from around the world in our first World Lager Festival. By popular demand, the international lagers shall return with the 3 most popular lagers from last year and 5 new ones including quite possibly the finest lagers ever tasted by man!!! As soon as we have confirmed our stocks, we’ll announce them. There will also be 3 Scottish Real Ales.
With over 1,200 bottles of lager sold last year we certainly quenched the thirst of a lot of men and some incredibly hardy women that could give any Tabler a run for their money in the scooping department!! There is more to life than a than a bottle of Bud, MGD or a pint of Tennants – the boys of Arbroath Round Table will help you discover the true ‘joy of lager’.
For those not into the lager though, don’t fret – there is a full bar available with a range of spirits and beers to keep your whistle whetted!
